Dart Boards

The first dart boards were probably the cross section of a tree, perfect for keeping score with the naturally occurring rings. Or perhaps the bottom of a wine keg. That would explain the pub game legacy. Or the butt, the old name for the dart board, is just stolen from the French for target, butte. I liked the other ideas better, so lets stick with the tree or wine barrel etymology, shall we?

So, we're in the pub with our wine barrel bottom. Scratch that. I'm sure that I'll break everyone of my darts if I'm throwing them into solid wood! How about we use an electronic dart board, or a paper one, or if you want to be really fancy, we can have a nice bristle dart board. Yes, that`s much better.

So, we're in the pub, I mean, your rec room, and we're hanging out, siting on the best bar stools money can buy, with our new or used dart board 5 feet and 8 inches high, and we're making our throw line 7 feet and 9 inches out. Cool.

What you need to do is get over to your favorite sporting goods store, or better yet, eBay and find yourself a dart board. If you're looking to find something cheap, used or new, you're going to want to buy one on eBay. They have the best prices that you can get on any dart board for your house. Or if you want a kid-friendly board, you can find mini dart board, Velcro boards and magnetic boards on eBay!
